Advocate for the Civil Justice System
The American Association for Justice (AAJ) is committed to advocating for the civil justice system, whether that means taking on powerful corporate interests, opposing unconstitutional attacks on the civil justice system or fighting harmful legislation that limits Americans’ access to the courts. We are committed to strengthening the civil justice system to ensure deserving individuals can get justice and wrongdoers are held accountable.
We oppose efforts to weaken basic legal protections and further stack the deck against Americans. All Americans benefit when individuals have a fair chance to get justice through our civil justice system. AAJ’s commitment to justice ensures that every person is on a level playing field in the courtroom and able to hold wrongdoers accountable.

Issue Advocacy
AAJ protects the civil justice system by advocating on issues before Congress and federal agencies with the goal of ensuring that people have a fair chance to receive justice through the legal system when they are injured by the negligence and misconduct of others - even when it means taking on the most powerful corporations.
Take Justice Back
For too long, access to justice and accountability though our courts has been under attack by powerful corporate interests. Their goal is to evade accountability when they injure and kill Americans. But when no one is accountable, no one is safe. Take Justice Back is the public education and grassroots campaign launched by the American Association for Justice to restore accountability, promote safety and ensure Americans have access to justice.
In the Courts
When Congress and state legislatures enact laws that limit the responsibility of corporations when they harm and injure Americans, AAJ works to ensure that those laws are overturned.
Research
AAJ produces original research to show the real story of how corporate negligence is affecting workers, consumers, and patients.
AAJ PAC
AAJ’s Political Action Committee helps fund the races of federal pro-civil justice candidates and incumbents. AAJ PAC is the only federal PAC dedicated to preserving the civil justice system.
Endowment
The mission of the American Association for Justice Robert L. Habush Endowment, in conjunction with AAJ, is to preserve and protect the civil justice system and individual rights. It accomplishes this by providing consistent public education and research to promote informed public dialogue on, understanding of and appreciation for the civil justice system;sponsoring prestigious education programs and well-received publications for judges and law professors; and, funding innovative scholarship and far reaching research on the civil justice system and individual rights.
